Scanning Wizard - Starting the scan


This screen of the Scanning Wizard is where you set the scanned image options and the where you start the scan.

Once the item has been scanned in, it will appear in the scanned image box (the large white area on the scanning wizard screen), On the 'Image type' panel choose the page layout for the scanned image from the Portrait or Landscape options.

Scan your Documents

The box beneath the two option buttons shows the type of file the image will be saved as, use the drop down list to change this option. The bottom box shows the filename the scanned image will be given by TCM when saved.
In the example above you can that the scanned image will be saved as a 256 colours bitmap.

Choose whether the scanned image has a 'Landscape' or 'Portrait' page orientation. Then choose the type of image you want the image to be saved as from the drop down list. For an explanation of the types of images you can save the document as, see the information box below.


BMPThis format is uncompressed and is suitable for high-quality colour images.

JPEGThis format is designed for colour images which can stand an amount of compression (photographs etc.)
